The Banana Docks

Bunches of bananas are paired with a scene from Mobile’s historic waterfront, recalling the city’s role in the Gulf Coast banana trade. Painted across two fragments of historic stoneware, The Banana Docks connects an ordinary piece of fruit to the ships, workers, and port history that once brought bananas through Mobile by the millions.
